It is the first institute of its kind in Gujarat established by team of dedicated and experienced personnel. SERI has team of qualified personal, senior scientists and academicians from reputed organizations involved in the field of Geomatics. It has been supported by Scanpoint Geomatics Limited (SGL), Ahmedabad, a company involved in research and development in Geomatics services and software's for more than 10 years. SGL has developed GIS, Image processing & advanced module products with Space Application Centre- ISRO, Department of Space, Government of India.

The students and professionals passing out from SERI would be working as GIS Executive, GIS Analysts, Image Processing Experts, GIS Programmers, GIS Technicians, Project Leaders and Geomatics Managers.
